Detroit Schools lose pupils

This front page story says the Detroit district may be out up to $35.5 million and may face layoffs as enrollment dips by over 11,000. Associate professor of Education Michael Addonizo, who specializes in school finance, said that even a loss of 5,500 students would force the district to consider any options for budget cuts. "That has got to be devastating for the school district," he said.
